A Bordeaux-style white wine, pale golden with champagne-like notes of vanilla, buttered toast, citrus and some oak. Fresh pear and honeydew fill out the rich flavor profile. Medium-bodied but crisp, with a long finish.

This special Estate 100% Sémillon Reserve wine is named for Caterina Nichelini, our Founding Mother. It is a bit rare in Napa Valley, which has only about 160 acres of these vines in production. Sémillon is often used in blending with other white wines, especially Sauvignon Blanc. I barrel fermented the wine for about one month to add more nuance. It did complete malolactic fermentation, resulting in a smoothness and a creamy richness to the body, with a refreshing concentration of citrus.
